Privacy Policy
1. About this policy
SOCIETY ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information through our website, purchases, customer support, and email and mobile messaging programs. It also explains your choices and how to contact us.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide. We collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, and preferences through website forms, including Founding Member enrollment. Account, order, and contact information includes billing and shipping details, purchase history, customer-service correspondence, and information you submit in reviews or requests. Transaction data includes products purchased, order totals, payment status, and refunds. Payment providers process payment details to complete your transaction.
Consent and communications. We record email and SMS consent separately, along with signup source, signup date, Founding Member status, consent records, delivery status, opt-outs, and communications with us. Message engagement information includes email opens and link clicks.
Automatically collected information. We collect device and browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, referral sources, pages viewed, interactions, and website usage data. Cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies support website functionality, analytics, and communication measurement.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to operate our website; manage accounts and subscriptions; process payments, orders, fulfillment, and returns; provide customer service; send requested communications and order or service updates; personalize your experience; understand website and messaging performance; improve our products and services; detect fraud and abuse; protect security; and meet legal, accounting, and compliance obligations.
We send email and SMS marketing only with consent for the relevant channel. Providing contact information alone does not grant marketing consent, and email consent does not grant SMS consent. SMS enrollment is optional and is not a condition of joining our email list or making a purchase.
4. Email and SMS marketing
SOCIETY uses contact information to send product launches, promotions, brand updates, reminders, offers, early access opportunities, and related communications according to your consent and preferences. We also use contact information for order and service updates. Marketing subscriptions and requested transactional communications are managed separately; subscribing to one marketing channel does not subscribe you to another.
Klaviyo supports our subscriber profiles, consent records, email and SMS delivery, and messaging analytics. Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link, accurate sender information, and a valid postal address. We honor email unsubscribe requests within 10 business days. Text messaging is governed by our Messaging Terms.
5. Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers to support ecommerce, payment processing, fulfillment, website hosting, analytics, security, customer support, and marketing, including Klaviyo. These providers process the information needed to perform services on our behalf, subject to appropriate contractual restrictions and safeguards. See Klaviyo’s privacy notice for information about its processing.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Non-SMS information can be disclosed to comply with legal requirements, respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, prevent fraud, or complete a business transfer, subject to applicable law and privacy protections.
SMS privacy protections. Mobile information, SMS opt-in data, and SMS consent status are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. SMS consent data is not shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. This information is shared only with service providers involved in delivering our messaging program, such as messaging platform providers, telecommunications carriers, and vendors assisting with text-message delivery. Nothing in this policy authorizes third-party marketing use of your mobile information or consent records.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain website functionality and preferences, understand visits and interactions, measure communication engagement, and improve performance. Our analytics and marketing service providers process technical and interaction data on our behalf for these purposes.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings and available website privacy controls. Blocking cookies can affect website functionality. We honor legally recognized universal opt-out signals, including Global Privacy Control, for processing covered by applicable U.S. privacy laws. Browser Do Not Track signals do not have a uniform industry standard and are not treated as a separate consent instruction.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including business operations, customer relationships, legal and accounting obligations, security, dispute resolution, and compliance. Retention depends on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.
After an unsubscribe or deletion request, we retain limited suppression, consent, and compliance records as needed to honor your choices and meet legal obligations. Unsubscribing stops the relevant marketing communications but does not automatically delete order history or every record.
8. Data security and processing locations
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including access restrictions, to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure.
Information is processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate, subject to appropriate protections. Please do not submit sensitive medical information through marketing signup forms.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or contact hello@drnksociety.com. Essential order, service, and legally required communications are separate from marketing subscriptions.
SMS. Reply STOP to unsubscribe from the SOCIETY Messaging Program. Reply HELP for assistance or contact hello@drnksociety.com. One final opt-out confirmation can be sent. SMS and email preferences are independent: opting out of one does not automatically opt you out of the other.
Privacy requests. Contact hello@drnksociety.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, obtain a copy, withdraw consent, or submit a privacy opt-out request. We honor applicable U.S. privacy rights and opt-out requests, including rights provided by your state of residence. You can use an authorized agent and submit an appeal of a denied request through the same contact method. We verify identity and agent authority as necessary, respond within applicable legal deadlines, explain denials, and do not discriminate for exercising privacy rights. Legal exceptions can require us to retain certain records.
10. Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact hello@drnksociety.com if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can investigate and delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The effective date above identifies the current version. We provide additional notice and obtain consent for material changes when required by law.
